This Is Worship

Even before the music started in service today, the sensory seeking and anxiety started. It shouldn’t have been surprising after the first week of school and a bout of strep.

My BFF texted and asked if I was at church. I replied, “At church? Yes,” and sent her this picture. I sat in the chair watching him roll and around, bounce, swing, whatever he could do to regulate, and these words came to my mind.

“This is worship.”

See, God has called me to be the Mama of this precious young man. This was taking care of what God had entrusted to me. This was my obedient service. And while a few floors below, there were hundreds of people praising God through song and sermon, we were up in this quiet room worshipping too.

So, whatever your day or week brings. Worship. Worship in song and sermon, but also worship in your faithfulness and obedience. Worship in your care for the things God has entrusted to you, be it, children, jobs, or anything else. I am so thankful for the times I can sit in a church service and worship, but I’m just as thankful that God sees my worship in obedience to Him.
